All hydrocarbon based thermal pastes will degrade when exposed to ElectroCool or AmpCool. However, because the actual amount of thermal paste that is exposed to the Dielectric Coolant is so small the paste will generally last for 12-24mths in operation before there is a noticeable difference in the operating temperature of the GPU. We recommend replacing the stock thermal paste with liquid metallic TIM materials or thermal transfer epoxies. You can review our Material Compatibility Guide to find the Thermal Interface materials that have been tested and certified for use with with our Dielectric Coolants.
We do highly recommend that you remove all extra or additional thermal paste that is located on your boards that is not specifically between the heat-spreader (heat sink) and the IC chip. This extra thermal paste will break down contaminate your Dielectric Coolant if left to dissolve in the coolant.
