Yes, EC-100 can be substituted for water in these systems. Please bear in mind the following:
- These devices have rubber gaskets and O-rings that are probably not compatible with hydrocarbons, such as our dielectric coolants. Be sure to check our Compatibility Guide and change any gaskets to Viton or another compatible elastomer.
- As water is the absolute best heat transfer fluid, you'll find that our Dielectric Coolants are about 80% as efficient. So you'll need to take this decrease in efficiency into account when sizing your system.
Algae can build up in stagnant diesel tanks (such as in back-up generators, that aren't operated very often). You won't have to worry about algal or other bio-buildup in Engineered Fluids products. We make our products to be highly resistant to any type of bio-fouling..
