Polyfluorinated Acids and Compounds (PFOAs, PFAs, PFOs) like Novec™ 7200 are chemically inert and very dense, hence they do not mix or combine or react with products like ElectroCool™. While we have not attempted to mix ElectroCool™ and Novec™ 7200 what is likely to happen based on their respective chemical structures is that that they will remain completely separate with the Novec™ stratified on the bottom level of the container due to its much higher density and the ElectroCool™ stratified to the top layer. Even with physical agitation the two products will not mix and rapidly seperate.
In addition, Novec™ 7200 primary application is as an industrial strength cleaning solvent. Novec™ 7200 and other chemicals in the Novec product family will actively destroy the ElectroCool molecule breaking it down into component parts, thus destroying the dielectric and other key properties of ElectroCool™.
Finally you must be fully aware of the heath hazards in handling all PFOAs as they are bioaccumlative (meaning that small amounts of physical and gaseous exposure buildup in your body and in the environment around you.), these class of chemicals never breakdown and remain persistent in both plants, animals, and our environment. PFOAs are known cancer causing agents, and have been actively banned for use in the EU and similar legislation is underway in the United States.
WE URGE YOU TO USE EXTREME CAUTION AND FULL PPE WHEN HANDLING ANY NOVEC™ OR FLUORINERT™ (3M) PRODUCTS INORDER TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND STOP THE RELEASE OF THESE HARMFUL CHEMICALS INTO OUR ENVIRONMENT.
